Mistakes to avoid in photography

Certain mistakes to avoid in photography

Great photography is an art. Even before the advent of digital cameras, there were great photographers that utilized the available conventional technology to shoot immortal photographs. The digital age has added value to the wonderful art with all its sophistication. However, there is a general misconception that mere possession of a digital camera with high mega pixels and wide range of automatically adjusting lens would make anybody an expert in the profession.

While the modern gadgets come a long way in perfecting the art of photography, to shoot perfect photos entirely depends on the skill of the person handling the camera. For naturally talented photographers, these digital cameras are the perfect tools. However, it is possible for a common man to shoot photos of high caliber with digital cameras just by avoiding a few common mistakes in photography.

Focus on subject

The most common mistake in photography is to lose focus on the subject. This happens especially during parties or vacations where you tend to take as many shots as possible on whatever thing that impresses or amuses you. However, at the end it is rather disappointing to check out that you have totally missed the focus on the subject with too many clutters around. The first step is to take time to study your subject and the possible angles that could result in best shots where you can cover everything you want within the frame. This will provide you with magnificent photos that you could cherish for life.

Luck does have a role in photography

It is true that luck has its role in creation of good photos. However, the reality is luck delivers just a fraction of what meticulous preparation in photography can do. Do not always wait for your lucky moment to shoot but plan your shots to create awesome photos. If luck meets you at the right moment, your photos can become an immortal art that deserves reverence. Planning in photography involves in choosing the right location, and the ideal subject. This would especially provide you with the impetus to grow tremendously if you plan to pursue your career in photography.

Missing out the momentous moment

It may seem a little contrary to the above statement, however it is actually not. Planning and preparation in photography should be done before hand so that you do not miss out on precious moments that are to be immortalized. It is all right to waste a few shots to get that picture perfect image you had always longed for. Amateur photographers often times realize that the camera settings are faulty only after the event is over. One other flaw is interacting with the subject which results in very artificial portraits.

It is important to plan before hand and preset your cameras settings for great shots. A set of spare batteries could come handy if you ever run out of power when you need it most.
