I want to know how to adjust my (dad’s) Canon Digital Rebel XT to a slower shutter speed. I misplaced the manual and even if I had the manual, I would be to lazy to read it. I appreciate your help!
Answer:
In Tv (Shutter Priority) the main dial behind the shutter controls your shutter speed.
In Av (Aperture Priority) the camera calculates the shutter speed based on the user designated aperture. You have no control of the shutter speed while in Av.
In M (Manual) the main dial controls the shutter speed……..More

I’m thinking of buying the Canon EOS 30D but don’t know what lenses I should buy with it. My interest is in nature photography (mountains, beach, wildlife) but have never invested in a good camera. I don’t know a whole lot about specifications for different lenses and need some good recommendations for starting photography as a hobby.
Depends on your budget, but here are some not-totally-expensive lenses for different purposes.

I am thinking of buying an SLR. But I do not know what to choose. What kind of Canon digital SLR would be best?
It depends how much you want to spend. The 20D is a great camera. It will be the cheapest that has the 8MP sensor. The 30D will be a bit more than the 20D, but really isn’t much different. If you want to spend a bit more money, I would get the

I want to take nice portraits of my son with my film SLR rebel. I keep hearing people saying that they use natural light. I want to buy a plain black and plain white back drop and take photos of him on there, but I always get really yellow looking photos with bad shadows. I …
Canon Digital Rebel XT with Lens Kit
by rgormly on Feb.25, 2010, under Accessories, Cameras, General, Lenses, Photography
If motion digital photography is your niche, the Rebel XT gives you a successive shooting setting that records as many as 14 photos as fast as 3 frames each second (with shutter speeds of 1/250 second or faster.) The Canon Digital Rebel XT gives you a shutter speed range from 1/4,000 to 30 seconds, and a bulb x-sync at 1/200 seconds. Best of all, it includes an ultra-fast 0.2 seconds startup time, a shutter release lag of 100 milliseconds, and viewfinder blackout time of 175 milliseconds — all of which means that you will always be on top of the action.
